What hours can you trade stocks?
Stock markets have set trading hours when stocks can be traded. Trading on the stock exchange for a particular stock depends on which stock exchange it is listed on. For example, if you want to trade Barclays (BARC) shares on the London Stock Exchange, you can do so between 08:00 and 16:00 (GMT/UTC) Monday through Friday. Moreover, the London Stock Exchange does not close for lunch, but most Asian stock markets are closed. Most stock exchanges are open Monday through Friday, however the Middle East exchanges are usually open Sunday through Thursday. It is possible to place a trading order outside business hours, but since there are no market participants involved, a large amount of liquidity will be required to fill the order.
